Pop Rock Cookies

Pop rocks are so much fun, I love getting the candy at the store and sharing it with my kids! About a month ago I was in Las Vegas for a media tour and one of the restaurants we ate at had a dessert made with pop rocks. So, I knew right away when I got home I wanted to try making cookies with pop rocks in them! The pop rock cookies came out great! The pop rocks really added an extra flavor and pop to the cookies! Now that I have conquered the task of putting pop rocks in cookies, I can't wait Read More... [Continue Reading]

Yin Yang Cookies

When I was making these cookies, I had no intention whatsoever of making a yin yang cookie. I was just adding things to the mixing bowl and thought what could I do that would make these cookies a little different. M&M Cookies

My favorite cookie as a child was M&M Cookies. I remember when I was a child they used to give us a free cookie from the bakery inside the grocery store and every time I would choose the M&M cookie. Such an easy recipe to make and a great way to put a smile on someone's face! I hope Read More... [Continue Reading]

Sunflower Wedding Cookies

We love eating wedding cookies, yes they are messy but are oh so good! When my husband got diagnosed with Crohn's disease he could not have these little cookies anymore because they had pecans in them. So, I set out to make some for him without having any kind of nuts in them, instead I used sunflower kernels. The cookies turned out great and I really think I just might have found an alternative to using nuts in my recipes! I wasn't sure at first about using sunflower kernels, but now I can't Read More... Sixlets Cookie Bars

This month our Blogger Recipe Challenge group was sponsored by SweetWorks, we were each sent a couple of bags of Sixlets to create some cookie recipes with. I don't know about you, but I love Sixlets, it is a childhood favorite candy of mine and now my kids love them as much as I did! So, I was very happy and excited to create a cookie recipe with Sixlets. I decided to make a cookie bar with them, I wanted the cookie to have a little more thickness to them than a traditional cookie. The bars Read More... [Continue Reading]

Zarkana Cirque du Soliel

Breathtaking....this is how I felt during the whole performance of Zarkana by Cirque du Soliel. I was in complete awe of the talent and finesse of these performers. Zarkana is a visually stunning modern acrobatic spectacular that everyone should see. Photo by Matt Beard ©Cirque du Soleil Not only was Zarkana a very entertaining show, it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The acts that were performed were thrilling and extraordinary! Out of the 12 acts performed, I would have to say Read More... [Continue Reading]
