Yin Yang Cookies

When I was making these cookies, I had no intention whatsoever of making a yin yang cookie. I was just adding things to the mixing bowl and thought what could I do that would make these cookies a little different. So, my first thought was to keep half the dough vanilla and make the other half chocolate. Then when I started to put the two together I thought how cool would it be to make them into a yin yang symbol and that is what I did! They were so delicious and cute looking! This is a Crohn’s friendly recipe and they did not last long in our house!

Instructions:

You want to mix together your butter, 1 cup of sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, salt and baking soda well. Then slowly start to add in your flour. Once the dough is ready you want to divide it in half. Take half of the dough out of the mixing bowl, with the other half left in you want to mix in your cocoa powder and 2 Tbsp of sugar. Next melt your chocolate chips in the microwave and then add the melted chocolate chips to the mixture. Preheat your oven to 350˚. Now you want to take both your vanilla and chocolate dough and form them into a yin and yang symbol. Don’t forget to add your 2 little circles of dough to the top of the yin and yang cookie dough. Place the cookie dough about 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Next place them in the oven and bake them for 7-8 minutes. Then take them out and….Enjoy!! : )
