The very first recipe I made this month for our blogger recipe challenge was the Sixlets cookie bars, I made them because we had a wonderful sponsor this month, SweetWorks. Well, I was trying to figure out another different cookie recipe that I could do so that I could use the Sixlets with. I came up with cookie crunch. It is a butter cookie that is crunched up, added to vanilla ice cream and Sixlets! It is a scrumptious little treat that is presented in such an adorable way, however you can just make it without making it cute…it will still taste the same!
Cookie Crunch
Ingredients:
2 sticks of Butter
1 Egg
1 1/2 cup of Sugar
1 1/2 tsp of Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp of Baking Soda
1/4 tsp of Salt
2 cups of Flour
Vanilla Ice Cream
Sixlets Candy
Instructions:
Combine your butter, egg, sugar, vanilla extract, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl. You want to mix all of the ingredients together well. Then you will slowly add in your flour. Preheat your oven to 350˚. Now take your dough and start forming 1 inch cookie dough balls. You want to place the dough balls on a greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Place them in the oven and bake for about 7 minutes. Then take the cookies out and let them cool completely. Now you want to get your ice cream out of the freezer, place your Sixlets candy in a bowl and get an empty bowl out to smash your cookies in. Next you want to actually smash your cooled down cookies in the empty bowl. Then you want to start preparing your cookie crunch. First put the Sixlets in the bottom of the container, next add in some of your smashed cookie, put the ice cream on top of the cookie, then add some more Sixlet candies on top and sprinkle some cookie on top of that! Repeat the above process until you have made as many or as little of the cookie crunch that you want! Now dig in and….Enjoy!! : )
