Prickly Pear Sorbet

Hey guys,

When I found out that this was month was a frozen food challenge I was so excited because I knew I was finally going to be able to make my prickly pear sorbet. I have been wanting to make this sorbet for a very long time and now I had no excuses! I was kind of nervous to make it as well, but now that it is done I am very happy! The prickly pear sorbet is something I will keep making for years to come because it is so wonderful!

Until next time,

2 Limes = 1/4 Cup of Lime

10 ounces of Water

1 Egg White (whisked) (OPTIONAL)

PricklyPear4

Instructions:

You want to mix together your prickly pear syrup, water and squeezed lime in a medium sized bowl. You want to mix it throughly, cover it and put in your refrigerator for about 4 hours or more. Next you will take the chilled mixture out and add it to your ice cream maker. As the mixture is slowly churning in your ice cream maker you want to add in your egg white. Adding the egg white will make the sorbet a little lighter. You don’t have to add it if you don’t want to, completely optional. Once the mixture is done churning, you will freeze the mixture for about 2-3 hours. After it is frozen take it out and you will see why I will be making this yummy frozen dessert for years to come!

Enjoy!! : )
