Homemade Hawaiian Pizza

I’m not a big fan of pizza, but when I had my first Hawaiian pizza I fell in love. Everyone makes it a little bit different, but the Hawaiian pizzas I love the most are the ones that have BBQ sauce on them. However, those places that make them like that are pricey, so I needed to come up with a recipe so I could have Hawaiian pizza at home. After making this recipe, I don’t even want to eat the restaurant ones any more because well mine is that good! I love it, my kids love it too which is kind of funny to me because they don’t like the one at the restaurant.

Something that made this pizza extra delicious was topping it off with fresh parmesan. The wonderful folks over at HIC, Harold Import Co. sponsored our Blogger Recipe Challenge group this month and provided each one of us with their Choco.Nut.Cheese Grater! I have been having so much fun with this grater, but for this particular recipe it was so easy to add fresh parmesan to it. Also, I didn’t use all of the parmesan, so I left it in the grater and put it in the refrigerator. The next day after heating up my left over pizza I grabbed the grater and easily added parmesan again! I absolutely love this grater and can’t wait to use it again and again!

HOMEMADE HAWAIIAN PIZZA

Crust Ingredients:

3 1/2 cups of Flour

1 Envelope of Instant Dry Yeast

2 Tsp of Garlic Salt

1/2 Tsp of Basil

1 Tbsp of Parmesan

1 Tbsp of Sugar

1 Tbsp of Olive Oil

Pizza Ingredients:

1/3 cup of BBQ sauce

2 Tbsp of Water

3 Tbsp of Sugar

8 ounces of Mozzarella Cheese

3 slices of Canadian Bacon (cut up)

1/2 cup of Fresh Pineapple

1 Tbsp of Olive Oil

Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

To prepare your crust you want to mix together all of the crust ingredients in your mixer. Once they are mixed together, you need to take it out of the mixing bowl and start to knead the dough. After the dough is kneaded you need to let it sit and rise for 2 hours. Now start preparing the sauce. In a small pan add the BBQ sauce, water and sugar together and heat for 1-2 minutes to get it warm enough to mix the sugar in. Now split your pizza dough into 2 balls, this recipe actually makes 2 pizzas! You want to roll out 1 of your pizza dough balls in any shape you want. Next drizzle the olive oil over the pizza dough, then spread the BBQ sauce all over. Add your mozzarella cheese, canadian bacon and pineapple. You want to put it in the oven on 400˚ for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and top it off with parmesan! Enjoy!! : )
